Wilson relates his experiences with the people of Afghanistan with love, clarity, and elegant simplicity. He gives a good picture of many aspects of life in Kabul in those days. His fellow evangelicals will share his concerns, interests, and anecdotes, and will undoubtedly share his happiness in his evangelizing successes. And in view of the fanaticism that has been imposed on Afghanistan subsequently, these may seem more beneficial today than they did at the time -- when the Afghans were notably tolerant of non-Muslims and were making strenuou
